My Unconquerable Soul

There are three ways people can get derailed in this fast track of a world:
People get lost in the PAST and they forget to look forward to the FUTURE.
People get lost in the PRESENT and forget to learn from the PAST.
People get lost in the FUTURE and forget to enjoy the PRESENT.

But the truth of the matter is that we cannot change the past.  We can only learn from it.  We cannot change the future.  We can only prepare for it.  Be in the present, for without conscious effort to change
the days will slip away and begin to change you.

Invictus
Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

-William Ernest Henley

I do not know how to blog. I do not know how to write. I do not know how to cook. I do not know how to art. I do not know how to wife.  But this I DO know:
“I am the master of my fate.  I am the captain of my soul.”
